Honda has done it again. In this little sports car you get: 100 bhp per liter, and affordable price, 8000 rpm redline, and other typical Honda stuff, including high reliability. The engine is not new, it is the one that pulled the del Sol some years ago, but it just fits better here, and maybe it would be even better in a Civic Hatchback. For this type of car, the Si accelerates briskly. 60 mph comes in just 7.1 seconds and 8.6 seconds later comes the 1/4 mile mark at 88 mph. Still, with all the inprovements, the Civic hasn't lost its road manners. There's enough torque on the "slow" cam profile to drive at a relaxed pace, taking advantage of the Honda's excellent isolation and its surprisingly good ride. At an estimated base price of $17,000, the Civic Si undercuts the similary speedy Acura Integra GS-R and Golf GTI GLX VR6. As a Honda fan, I think this is the car for me. Now, how can I get my dad to buy this one?
