Refinement isn't on the Diablo's list of strengths, and neither is slavish attention to datail. In the grand and romantic tradition of the Italian supercar, the Diablo is a thundering, fuel-sucking exercise in excess, as close to a useless car as might ever be concieved. If that doesn't strike some sort of cosmic chord in the back of your brain, then there's nothing I can say that will make you understand. Only a mind-alterning blast through third gear can do that. The capo di tutticapi of exotics is generous competition for the Ferrari F40, Porsche 959 or any other "hand built" car you can imagine. Except in an hallucinatory state, those cars are virtually unobtainable, so it doesn't really matter, does it?

UPDATES: Horse power increases to 530 bhp for the SV and VT models. Expect a new Lamborghini to appear for 2000 with a V-10 engine to compete with Ferrari's 360 Modena.
