    O.K., it isn't exactly a sports car, nor a exotic, but this is a fast automobile. In fact, it is faster than more than 30% of the cars in this website. There have been some fast trucks before, including the GMC Syclone, but none of them have been as quick as this one (well, maybe the Syclone is, but only from 0-60). Compare this one to a $72,000 Jaguar XK8. It has more power, accelerates quicker, and it is cheaper. Only top speed is slower in this car. Maybe this car hasn't the smooth ride and high luxury of the Jaguar, but when there is a need for speed, the truck is the winner. At least I wouldn't like to be outrunned by a $30K truck if I was driving a $72K Jaguar. What do you think? Whatever your opinion is, I think that this truck is quite a winner in many ways.

UPDATES: The Lightning received some changes for 2001. Starging with the engine, power is up by 20 bhp, and torque by 10 lb.-ft. The transmission gets a shorter final drive ratio, which improves acceleration. Exterior changes are minimal, including a new wheel design, and clear rear lamps.
